Greenergy, a UK-based petrol and diesel supplier, has introduced a new contactless card scheme for its independent retail customers after a 10-week trial.

The new programme that will replace Greenergy’s legacy Esso system will offer considerably lower transactional costs together with greater functionality and improved service levels.

The fuel supplier said that the new card scheme enables dealers to accept contactless payments as well as fuel cards, offer cash back and process cardholder-not-present transactions.

Additionally, the system has been attuned to the existing loyalty schemes such Tesco Clubcard as well as others planned for later in the year.

Besides providing seven day technical support through HTeC, the new scheme offers flexible payment terms, with one or three day payment for bank cards and four day for fuel cards.

Greenergy territory manager Ronald Skimming, who is leading the card project, said: “We have listened to our customers to ensure our scheme delivers the optimum combination of cost, functionality and service advantages.
