Transaction services company InComm has introduced a prepaid card for Rogers’ mobile payment solution suretap wallet, in partnership with Canadian financial institution Peoples Trust.
Rogers’ suretap wallet enables user to store an existing credit card on a SIM card in NFC-powered device to make mobile payments.
InComm Canada general manager Karen Budahazy said that the company is delighted to partner with Peoples Trust on the project, that it claims as a key step forward in providing relevant payment solutions for on-the-go consumers.
"With the majority of Canadians now using smartphones, suretap wallet will be a welcomed addition to the retail industry and will provide both our retail partners and prepaid card partners opportunities to participate in a secure mobile payments system to enable consumers to take full advantage of all the capabilities offered by today’s smartphones," added Budahazy.
Rogers Prepaid MasterCard, available on select Android and Blackberry 10 devices through suretap wallet, can be recharged any time using an auto top-up and the prepaid card can be used for purchases at retailers across Canada that accept contactless payments.
