Xpress Money, a money transfer company, has teamed up with MTN Ghana, a telecom provider in Ghana, to launch a mobile wallet service to Ghana from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

With this service, Xpress Money customers remitting to Ghana can now transfer money directly into the mobile wallets of registered MTN Mobile Money users across the country.

The new service to Ghana will be available across countries including UAE, KSA, Kuwait, and Qatar in the GCC with plans to launch from Nigeria, UK, Australia, Jordan, USA, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Italy.

Customers can avail the service by visiting an Xpress Money outlet and providing details of the person they intend to send money to, their registered MTN numbers as well as the amount they wish to send.

Later, MTN customer will receive an SMS confirmation to collect money, after which the customer can visit the nearest MTN outlet and receive money by presenting his valid ID.

Using the service, customer can send only $1500 in a month and up to $500 per single transaction. Xpress Money is planning to roll out the service for Ghana from other countries by the end of this year.
