US bank Sun National has announced it will use Pogo to expand the payment services offered to its small businesses and merchants.

Pogo allows merchants to create a mobile point-of-sale (POS) by combining an enabled smartphone or tablet with a mobile application and secure card reader.

Using Pogo businesses can accept credit, signature debit or cash payments from any location with wireless coverage in the United States.

Thomas Geisel, Sun National Bank’s president and CEO, said: "With the ability to access Pogo in our growing suite of small business banking services, our customers can leverage the latest technology to securely process payments, more effectively manage their expenses and improve their bottom line".

Sun National has focused on attracting younger customers in recent years. In 2010 the bank launched a marketing campaign featuring US president Abraham Lincoln wearing a Bluetooth headset and promoting internet and mobile banking.
