UnionPay launches mobile QuickPass in UAE in collaboration with Mashreq Bank

UnionPay in partnership with the UAE-based Mashreq Bank has debuted its mobile QuickPass service in the UAE.

UnionPay in partnership with the UAE-based Mashreq Bank has debuted its mobile QuickPass service in the UAE.

As per the agreement, Mashreq Bank will update all its 15,000 POS terminals that support contactless payment to accept mobile QuickPass.

The QuickPass service will also support the contactless payment made using UnionPay chip cards, smartphones and wearable devices, according to UnionPay.

At the outset, merchants including snack bars, digital stores and shopping centres will accept UnionPay mobile QuickPass in the UAE.

With QuickPass-enabled UnionPay chip cards and smartphones, customers can pay at the contactless terminals in these stores.

Mobile QuickPass, which offers payment security through dynamic password and tokenisation, is now being accepted at restaurants, department stores and convenience stores in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia and Canada.
