TSYS, a payments provider, has partnered with PAX Technology, a provider of electronic payment solutions, to introduce a semi-integrated solution that aims to simplify the EMV certification process.

The TSYS-certified solution will provide value-added resellers (VARs), integrated software vendors (ISVs) and their customers a secure method for accepting payments, including magnetic stripe, EMV, and NFC contactless payments.

Designed for merchants and developers and certified via all major card brands, the solution will easily integrate with point-of-sale (POS) devices, eliminating the process of EMV certification as well as decouples payments, reducing PCI scope from the POS.

Under the partnership, TSYS will use PAX’s software development kit (SDK) to validate the communication, ensuring that it is reliable and secure.

Besides reducing overall EMV implementation costs, this integration process will offer VARs and ISVs with a quick-to-market solution with support from the TSYS Developer services team.

TSYS head of product for merchant services segment Craig Ludwig said: "Our all-in-one solution developed with PAX not only reduces costs and time required for EMV certification, but also provides advanced security features to guard against credit card fraud."

PAX Technology CEO and president Andy Chau said: "Our semi-integrated, secure payment technology can be seamlessly integrated into line-of-business applications, providing enormous value to merchants, VARs and ISVs.

"Merchants, regardless of size, can now process payments securely using TSYS Guardian Encryption, TSYS Guardian Tokenization and EMV. This will also enable them to support NFC payment methods such as Apple Pay, allowing them to take advantage of this easy, secure and private way to pay."
