Latin American smartcard manufacturer Sagem
Orga do Brasil has selected CardInk, a data preparation and
security system, as the region moves towards EMV debit and
credit cards.
CardInk is security solutions provider
Cryptomathic’s second generation EMV data preparation system for
single and multiple application cards. Sagem Orga do Brasil plans
to use the solution to generate payment application data for
various card schemes including MasterCard and Visa where Sermepa
Advantis technology is already used.
“The CardInk solution offers Sagem Orga do
Brasil a highly secure and scalable data preparation system with
the technical capability to support industry-leading projects in
the future,” said Richard Marques, technology director at Sagem
Orga do Brasil. “This includes the forthcoming issuance of MULTOS
cards in response to the banking community’s progress to deploy
multiple-application cards to end-users. We look forward to a
prosperous long-term partnership with Cryptomathic.”
The CardInk system is both Hardware Security
Module (HSM) vendor and card platform independent, which
Cryptomathic claims ensures flexibility for any card issuing
environment.
“Cryptomathic is looking forward to advancing
the Sagem Orga do Brasil’s CardInk solution to align with the
future needs of its customers, and the market’s evolution towards
multiple-application payment card implementations,” said Guillaume
Forget, sales manager at Cryptomathic.
