PAX wins payment devices supply contract from China UnionPay Merchant Services

PAX Technology, a US-based manufacturer of secure electronic payment terminal solutions, has been awarded a contract by China UnionPay Merchant Services (UMS) to supply secure payment devices to more than six million merchants in 2017.

PAX Technology, a US-based manufacturer of secure electronic payment terminal solutions, has been awarded a contract by China UnionPay Merchant Services (UMS) to supply secure payment devices to more than six million merchants in 2017.

Besides using comprehensive PAX product portfolio, UMS will leverage PAX’s A920 Android terminal that provides high levels of application customisation to fulfil different merchant demands of procurement, logistics, inventory and business management.

Other PAX devices will also be deployed, which include countertop models, S78, S80 and S800 all in combination with the new SP20 V4 contactless PINpad, S60, S500, mobile terminals S90, S900 & D210, the D180 mPOS, smart PINPads SP30 & S300, the smart self-service desktop payment terminal D800 and the all-in-one smart ECR payment terminal D820.

PAX Technology vice president for China sales Yongqiang Qi said: “The winning of this large UMS tender will further strengthen PAX's leading market position in China, as has been happening globally for the past couple of years."
