PAX Technology, a developer of electronic payment solutions, has introduced its new, portable mobile terminal, called S920F, at the RetailTech show held in Tokyo, Japan.

The company said that it is foraying into the Japanese payment market as majority of the devices in the country cannot support different types of cards on one single machine.

The newly launched pocket-sized mobile terminal is designed to support all card payment transactions ranging from Felica, Japanese credit card to international credit card.

The solution can replace the standard devices with small operating costs.

The mobile terminal comes pre-configured with payment device, receipt printer and electronic signature pad to enhance checkout speed and business management for merchants with a small footprint.

PAX Technology general manager for Asia Pacific Heidi Hoo said: “This is the official launch of PAX Solution in Japanese market and we are delighted by the levels of interest shown to our innovative solutions.

“The Tokyo Olympic Games brings strong demands of payment solution, and PAX is very confident of providing the best in class solution to Japanese market together with our partners, and previous success in Rio Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. We expect strong sales growth from Japan in the future.”

The company initially rolled out the solution in the fourth quarter of last year and is currently in-use at Hokkaido, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Sendai locations.
