ALTO Network (ALTO), the national payments gateway for Indonesia, has partnered with real-time payment fraud prevention solutions provider INETCO Systems to prevent card-not-present (CNP) fraud.

ALTO, which is an end-to-end payment switching and digital banking solutions provider, has tapped the INETCO Insight software for security monitoring.

It has been licenced by Bank Indonesia as the National Payment Gateway (GPN) institution.

ALTO serves over 40 member banks, connects to more than 100,000 ATMs and over one million electronic data capture (EDC) machines across Indonesia.

The partnership supports Bank Indonesia’s national payment system (NPS) vision and the national non-cash movement.

Its fraud risk team depends on INETCO Insight to detect and analyse payment fraud, within milliseconds.

All transactions are profiled in real-time, allowing ALTO to monitor over 120 links.

These links include issuing and acquiring member banks, ALTO Retail Payment Solution (RPS) switch, host authorization points, and more.

INETCO Insight decodes all data fields, including message types, card numbers, amounts, transaction dates and times, response codes, terminal IDs and ISO 8583 messages.

ALTO’s fraud risk team use these fields to meet Visa security requirements and input rules-based alerts, fraud analytics, machine learning models and real-time risk scoring for each individual customer.

These settings are updated instantly every time a transaction occurs.

INETCO CEO Bijan Sanii said: “INETCO is dedicated to helping ALTO deliver world-class payment security and service excellence to all their member banks and customers.

“We have a proven track record of increasing the safety and stability of payment transactions and are excited by the opportunity to drive financial inclusion and the adoption of non-cash payments across Indonesia.”

ALTO Network CTO Patricco Baron said: “Together, with world-class partners such as INETCO, we can actively work to prevent card present and card-not-present fraud attacks.

“We want to make customers feel safe when it comes to digital payment migration and help our member banks protect themselves against financial loss and a tarnished reputation – neither of which can be easily recovered.”
