US-based InComm Payments has launched a new payment solution to enable sports and entertainment venues to switch to cashless payments ecosystems.

Using this system, the audience attending any event at these venues can exchange cash for an open-loop gift card at the guest services office.

They can use this gift card to buy food, merchandise and other products from vendors at the event.

The gift cards come without any purchase fees and will be branded with the home team’s logo at participating venues.

Moreover, these open-loop gift cards can be used anywhere they are accepted – both inside and outside the event venue across the US.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, a football team at the ongoing National Football League (NFL), have adopted the solution from Incomm Payments.

They are currently implementing the cashless payment system at their TIAA Bank Field home stadium in Florida.

Jacksonville Jaguars senior director of facility operations Ryan Prep said: “We want to ensure consumers visiting TIAA Bank Field have an easy way to pay for food and merchandise, and they enjoy a memorable game-day experience.

“Guests can simply take the card home and use it in their next visit to a Jaguars game or wherever the card’s network is accepted.”

InComm Payments SVP of financial services Adam Brault said: “The transition to cashless payments ecosystems has been steadily gaining traction within venues nationwide but finding inclusive payment alternatives is crucial as major sporting events begin welcoming back their fans.

“It is important to remember that a sizable consumer demographic still prefer to use cash for their everyday purchases, so venues need to accommodate these attendees in a convenient way.

“The solution has been well received by attendees at TIAA Bank Field, and we look forward to rolling out our cashless solution to more venues across the country in the weeks to come.”
