Global Processing Services (GPS), a global payments processor, has extended support for mobile wallet capabilities by including Android Pay for Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES).

MDES enables programme managers to offer Android Pay and other digital wallets to card members to provide secure mobile payments over the counter and in app via mobile device.

Android Pay is available to all clients using the pioneering GPS Apex platform.

GPS managing director Suresh Vaghjiani said: “Our clients are innovators who are constantly looking for new ways to add value to their commercial offering.

“With the addition of Android Pay to our growing portfolio of mobile wallets supported, we continue to break new ground for our issuer clients and future-proofing the GPS Apex platform.

“Security and privacy is at the core of Android Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Android Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device or on servers.
