CertainSafe, a provider of highly secure data security solutions, has launched a new solution called 2nd Generation Tokenization for securing PCI data around the payment card data and preventing data breaches.

Dubbed as MicroTokenization, CertainSafe’s approach provides tokenization of all data around the card number.

The solution also aims to boost the amount of data that can be tokenized from 16 bits to the new CertainSafe standard of more than 2 billion bits (2GBs-plus) thereby facilitating end-to-end encryption and securing data in rest as well as in motion.

According to CertainSafe, MicroTokenization will be carried out within a PCI Level 1 DSS Certified environment as well as a HIPAA-complainant protected environment.

The company’s 2nd Generation Tokenization solution will be integrated into both a payment processor’s infrastructure, their point of sale (POS) systems as well as a company’s infrastructure via an API process.

The new 2nd Generation Tokenization, MicroTokens, will not use any part or form of the original data.

CertainSafe executive vice president Steven Russo said: "CertainSafe’s revolutionary MicroTokenization process allows for near real-time speed.

"The data is not only ultra-secure, but also readily accessible at near real-time performance so as to have very little impact on the user experience. CertainSafe’s 2nd Generation Tokenization takes the simple tokenization of card numbers to a whole new level."
