Air Canada has collaborated with Visa to tap its Visa Checkout digital payments service that will allow travellers to complete their online flight ticket and travel vacations booking.

Visa Checkout users need to enter payment and shipping information once and subsequent payments can be executed in just a few clicks. Currently, Visa Checkout serves over 22 million enrolled accounts across the globe.

The digital payments service is available on for desktop and mobile web formats and will be available on Air Canada’s mobile app in 2018.

Now, customers of Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations have a simpler way to pay for tickets, seat upgrades or bag check fees online with Visa Checkout.

Air Canada vice president of global sales Duncan Bureau said: “At Air Canada, we are focused on making our customers’ purchasing experience as convenient as possible.

“Integrating Visa Checkout as a payment option for both Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations offers our customers a quick, secure and easy checkout experience.”

Visa president and country manager of Canada Stacey Madge said: “This summer, it will be faster and easier for Canadians to fly away with Air Canada, using Visa Checkout. We are pleased to team up with Canada’s largest airline to help make paying for travel online faster than ever.”

At present, Visa Checkout is live in 23 markets, including the US, Australia, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Spain, South Africa and the UAE and the UK.
