Transactions are automatically settled by converting the user’s digital assets into fiat currency at the point of sale.

Account holders can apply for and oversee the card directly within the Gate mobile application to fund everyday expenditure, including travel, dining, and retail purchases.

The rollout links Gate’s platform with Visa’s acceptance network, which covers upwards of 175 million merchant locations across more than 200 countries and territories.

Visa currently supports over 160 active stablecoin-linked card programmes globally, an area where payment volumes have expanded by nearly 200% year-on-year.

Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han said: “This partnership with Visa connects the digital asset accounts Gate users already know with a broad range of commercial scenarios, making digital asset payments more intuitive and better aligned with everyday needs.

“As the service launches across more than 40 countries and territories, we aim to give users greater flexibility in how they use their assets and further expand the practical use of digital assets in global commerce.”

The card debut coincides with the introduction of Gate Money, a feature inside the main application that consolidates bank accounts, payments, fiat currencies, digital assets, equities, exchange-traded funds, and gold.

Established in 2013, Gate reports a client base exceeding 61 million users.

The exchange supports trading in more than 5,300 digital tokens, 12,800 equities, and traditional financial markets encompassing commodities, foreign exchange, indices, and metals.
