Digital financial services provider Zip US has rolled out a new flexible payment feature, ‘Pay in 2’, giving shoppers the ability to split a purchase into two instalments over a two-week period.
The company said the product is aimed at customers who want a shorter repayment schedule for day-to-day purchases, positioning it as an option that sits alongside Zip’s existing ‘Pay in 4’ plan.

While Pay in 4 enables payments spread across six weeks and has been used by millions for higher-value items, Pay in 2 is intended for managing cash flow within a single billing cycle.
Destiny Modeste, a Zip customer, said: “Pay in 2 feels manageable and intentional, fitting naturally between paychecks.
“It wraps up quickly, before it becomes something I have to track, which makes those everyday moments feel genuinely stress-free.”
Zip said the launch follows a pilot programme which indicated “strong demand” for a shorter instalment option focused on everyday spending.

By GlobalDataIn a survey of participants, 95% said they would use Pay in 2 again, with many indicating they would use it for routine expenses such as groceries and bills.
Joe Heck, US CEO at Zip, said: “We are constantly listening to our customers to understand how they want to pay and are committed to empowering them with alternatives to traditional high-interest credit products.
“Pay in 2 offers the flexibility to bridge the time between paychecks for smaller, recurring purchases without the commitment of a longer installment plan.”
To encourage early take-up, Zip is offering a limited-time incentive. Between 9 February and 15 February, the first 100 customers each day who successfully initiate a Pay in 2 purchase will receive a year without origination fees on all future Pay in 2 orders.
