Future Payments 2013 and Cards & Payments Europe Awards Gala Dinner

Millenium Gloucester Hotel, London | 15 May 2013 - 16 May 2013

Shaping and Building the Future

We are excited to launch our brand new event, Future Payments 2013 which will bring together leaders from across the banking, payments, retail and telecom sectors to discuss and shape the future of payments.

The consumer is king.

In the payments industry it is the consumer's changing demand that is driving the market forwards. As traditional payment methods decline, it is those who are proactive in shaping the future of payments, who will emerge as winners.

Join us in London on 15-16 May 2013 to share ideas and innovations across all industries. Together we will address the questions:

  • What will be the impact of telecommunications advances on the way people transact?
  • How are consumer's expectations changing?
  • How will the payments technology landscape evolve over the next ten years?
  • Should payments technology shape consumer behaviour, or simply respond to it?

Register now for this exciting event

On the evening of the conference the Cards & Payments Europe Awards will be held at a Gala Dinner. These awards will allow the best and brightest within the industry to be recognised and celebrated by their peers. The awards provide an ideal platform for companies to showcase their acheivements and reward their most oustanding performers.

Future Payments 2013 and Cards & Payments Europe Awards Gala Dinner

In the payments industry the consumer is king, and the way people pay for goods and services is evolving rapidly. But is this as a threat or an opportunity? The winners will be those who are proactive in shaping the future of payments - the influencers, thought leaders and early adopters.

  • Worldwide eCommerce revenue is set to reach $936 billion by 2015
  • $55 billion is expected to be remitted internationally via mobile phones in 2016
  • By 2016 more than half of the dollars spent in retail will be influenced by the web, with a quarter of consumers using retail stores as "showrooms" and buying online
  • 46% of internet users already use social media to inform their purchasing decisions before they buy
  • The Vodafone Group is one of a number of telcos entering the financial services sector, and has announced it intention to bring payments services to its 398 million global customer base

Banks, telcos, retailers and IT suppliers must work together to deliver the payments solutions of the future - and no one can afford to take a passive role... And Future Payments 2013 will provide an essential forum for idea-sharing and innovation across all industries. A new two-day conference focussing on the future development of banking and payments technology, Future Payments 2013 will bring together leaders from across the banking, payments, retail and telecoms sectors to discuss the ways that technology is effecting the banking, payments and retail sectors.

The conference has a clear aim - to get people together from across industries, to find answers to a clear set questions:

  • How are consumers' expectations changing?
  • What will be the impact of telecommunications advances on the way people transact?
  • How will the payments technology landscape evolve over the next ten years?
  • Should payments technology shape consumer behaviour, or simply respond to it?
